Desi works incredibly hard to make all our money go as far as possible and does a wonderful job of balancing the books and dealing with all the "financial stuff" and much, much more.
She recently moved to Chard after 40+ years with horses and dogs in very rural Mid Devon.
She was also a trustee of a local charity providing out of school activities for children with special needs.
After many years in various types of administration in both Canada and Devon, Desi is semi-retired but is still runs a part-time business with her husband David.
She is quite "hands on" and can often be found volunteering with therapy sessions.
Desi has attended Horse Boy Method level one training as a non rider.
Mara started as a volunteer and was soon here almost full time, when the opportunity arose she jumped at the chance to become our 2nd apprentice in November 2013. She has a talent for art and photography and her quiet and thoughtful manner is much appreciated by our less confident visitors. Her horse Winston is used regularly for therapy sessions and is particularly good for sensory work.
Olivia has been with us as an apprentice since July 2013. She passed her NVQ 2 Horsecare with Kingston Maurward College. As well as working with the horses, Liv really enjoys the work we do with families and is rapidly developing a wide range of therapy support skills and works very effectively with children and families visiting us.
She is becoming an established member of the team and is intending to stay with us to work towards NVQ level 3
